At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we offer a great range of extra-curricular clubs to further enhance aspirations and opportunities for our pupils. Extra-curricular clubs are a great way for children to gain new skills and improve their confidence.
Parents/carers are notified on a termly basis, in advance, which clubs will be available for the following term. They range from sports activities to gardening, cookery, photography, chess, art and craft, Candy’s Cakes, gymnastics, Skateboard school, origami and more!
Any suggestions for future clubs would be gratefully received. Please speak to Mrs Poole.

Places for some clubs are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. If you are not contacted, please assume your child has a place. If your child is interested please contact the office.
Personal Development Beyond the Classroom
We have the 100 experience promise; a promise that each half-term, from Reception to Year 6, every child will engage in at least one class-level experience and one whole-school level experience; making 100 in total across their Primary career.
Such experiences may be in class, involve a visitor or workshop; they may include going out of school as class or indeed a whole-school trip e.g. the beach; a stately home. These are designed to build cultural capital and provide experiences to make abstract concepts more concrete and bring to life what they read about in books. We want these experiences to be remembered and to benefit children’s spoken language and ability to write – with direct knowledge – about a range of things.
